Couples Therapy

There is nothing more wonderful than a secure, romantic relationship. It’s what we all long for and fight to hold on to. Yet even in the most loving couples, the nature of our past attachments together with the stress of daily life can erode intimacy and expose insecurities, disappointment and pain. You may be living with anxiety or anger about your partner’s inability to meet your needs and don’t know what to do. You may be holding your feelings in, hoping to avoid conflict. You may love each other deeply but find yourselves unable to share the comfort, care and companionship you need. I’d like to help.

Guided by attachment theory and Emotionally Focused Therapy, my goal is to create a safe space where you can be heard, understand yourself and your partner more deeply, identify the ways in which you repeat predictable patterns of interaction, and begin to restore calm and trust to your relationship. I believe that with insight comes clarity and with it the power to create lasting positive change.
